  • PERSONAL STATEMENT, Start-to-Finish (One Essay)

    This package best serves the student who has just started the writing process and needs help selecting a prompt and/or brainstorming a topic and an angle with which to tell their story.

  • Two virtual discovery and brainstorming sessions (one hour each)
  • Constructive feedback for unlimited drafts of an essay up to two weeks before the college application deadline
  • Editing services for final draft

  • SUPPLEMENTALS

THINGS TO CONSIDER:
  • Supplemental essays, as additional pieces of writing required by most universities, are as important as a personal statement.
  • They can be more challenging and time consuming to write.
  • They usually require research and personalized responses that ask students to defend how they are a good “fit” for the school or how a specific school of study will help a student reach an academic or professional goal.
  • They ask students to answer more specific and often nuanced questions in varying word counts.
COACHING SUPPORT for each prompt:
  • Coaching support for up to 6 prompts
  • Sample responses and tips provided
  • One round of content feedback via Google Docs
  • One round of editing and word count feedback
  • Supplemental package price is due no later than six weeks after first session
 

  • GROUP COACHING — each two-hour session includes:

  • Coaching and topic brainstorming (virtually) for groups of 2-4 students (cost is to be split by all session participants, and is due prior to the session)
  • Students may book multiple sessions as a group throughout the writing process or choose the Individual Coaching option after the initial brainstorming session

  • Additional Services:

  • LAST MINUTE editing – for final revision and editing assistance only (via email)

All fees are due at the first session.

I charge flat rates for my services, rather than work by the hour. This model encourages applicants to take advantage of generous revising support. Supplemental coaching package cost is due no later than six weeks from the start of our first essay coaching session.

  • Payment is due in full at the first meeting.
  • Contract is void if student does not meet coach’s assigned deadline as documented in email.
  • For coaching to be effective, the student accepts his/her role in this process and is prepared to write and revise with commitment.
  • While I will do everything I can to help you create your best piece and shine for the admissions team, services cannot guarantee admission.
  • Remember, a stellar essay will set you apart and can make all the difference, but only if you have already made it to the “under consideration” pile.
